As we expand our operations, we recognize the critical role that IT plays in our success. We are currently seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator /Computer Technician to maintain our IT infrastructure and provide daily troubleshooting support.

Job Description:  We are looking for an individual who is passionate about technology and has a basic understanding of IT fundamentals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure. This role involves providing hands-on support to our staff, managing IT systems, and ensuring our technology meets the needs of our fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server environments and NAS products, with a focus on Synology.

  • Maintain I.T security and advise on improvements and /or innovations

  • Maintain Virtual Machines and Virtual Private Networks for specific software use

  • Administer Microsoft products including Intune, Office 365, Azure, and Active Directories.

  • Resolve issues with multifunction printers and support Windows 11 Pro Workstations.

  • Perform service calls to various project sites near Timmins, Ontario, as needed.

  • Provide on-call support after hours and on weekends to address urgent IT issues.

  • Ensure regular system backups are performed and data integrity is maintained.

  • Monitor network security, identify vulnerabilities, and implement security measures.

  • Collaborate with the IT team and external vendors to enhance our IT infrastructure.

  • Offer technical support and training to staff, improving overall IT literacy.

  • Document IT procedures, configurations, and maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in IT support and /or system administration

  • Proficiency in managing Windows Server environments, NAS (Synology), Microsoft Intune, Office 365, Azure, and Active Directories.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing high-quality customer service.

  • Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed and participate in on-call weekend shifts.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Education is an asset
