Requirements:

​

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Surveyor to support our surface mining operations. This role involves conducting precise measurements of land areas, preparing detailed maps and reports, and collaborating with the engineering and construction teams to ensure accuracy in our mining projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of surveying techniques, and a commitment to safety and environmental standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

​

• Properly handling and operating GPS units; Handheld GPS units; level and laser level

• Laying out limits for excavation and back-fill

• Staking out design lines and surfaces

• Performing regular as built topographic surveys

• Performing quantity surveys on a regular basis

• Maintaining a proper field book

• Experienced with Auto CAD/Auto CAD Civil 3D.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Other related duties, as assigned.

• Communicate with surveyors and contractors to complete survey tasks.

• Assist with preparation of survey notes, grade sheets and calculations.

• Assist with completion of accurate topographical surveys and construction layouts, roads, grading

 

Qualifications:

​

• Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Surveyor, preferably in the mining or construction industry.

• Proficiency with surveying equipment and software, including GPS, total stations, and AutoCAD.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Familiarity with mining safety practices and regulations is highly desirable.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the mine site.

 

Work Environment

• This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.

• Candidates must be prepared to work in a noisy, dusty environment and wear protective gear when necessary.
